First and foremost, this is not your typical tour guide book. It is most definitely a love story, which happens to be disguised as an interactive travel guide book and a service to future travelers and tourists coming to visit Puerto Rico.
Written from my perspective & experiences as a Cuban/American from Miami, Florida, I’m simply sharing the secret places and other gems I’ve found in Puerto Rico traveling and exploring most if not all of this island the past 4 years. If you’re coming for vacation, you’re going to love coming here and I genuinely hope this website and book leads you the right way. Si eres boricua y de la isla, sencillamente les doy millones de gracias por ser como son y por tener una isla tan bella!
I’m going to keep the About Me section on this website version short and allow the story about me and Puerto Rico to begin inside the final version of the book. If you’re interested, stay tuned! For now, let’s just say I’ve been beyond inspired to write an interactive travel guide and put together a narrative from my past 4 years traveling the island of Puerto Rico and meeting the people as a complete outsider and traveler.
This book and website is simply sharing the wondrous sights, food, adventures, and people I’ve seen. I’m humbled to have this opportunity to shine a light on this island that has allowed me to grow as a person and gained valuable perspectives on what it means to live life, travel, and chase and climb for what we seek.
About Me? I love traveling, meeting new people, nature, exotic food, sports, photography, writing, editing, filming, philosophy, a great fucking joke, kind actions, getting out of my comfort zone, a conversation that connects, growing, adventure, a well turned phrase or quote, amazing friends, beautiful family, and of course love above all else. I’m also “out there”, a “dreamer”, a “free spirit”, a “funny mother fucker” (not literal of course), “a massive fan of great and amazing music” (I’m pretty much convinced John Lennon and Bob Marley’s music literally launched the musical revolution we enjoy today and are modern day instructions on how to flow through this game called “life.”)
Yeah, I’m also a huge Miami Heat Fan. You better believe it! From day 1 in 1988 from 0-17, to 3 NBA Titles (2006, 2012,2013). I’m a Wade guy, although LeBron’s is my guy as well. I’m writing this of course before he does his “Decision II” in 2014 – just in case it’s years later and nobody believes me. I’ve now put in in writing! Anyways, Dolphins of course too. We suck. Except Dan Marino. Anyways, I’ve probably lost half the audience now. What else About Me? Oh so much more…anyways…back to you.
If you’re thinking about traveling to Puerto Rico and looking for things to do and see and perhaps check some of those items off your “bucket list” or you just want to get away from your day to day routine and figure some things out – then this book is actually About You. It’s a Caribbean Island, and easy to get to but it’s also about your frame of mind. It’s about you doing the things you want to do. It’s about living life. It’s about exploring. It’s about getting out of your comfort zone. It’s about not knowing what’s ahead of us…and enjoying every second of it. It’s about finding these places along the way.
